Will city sewer systems across the U.S. experience problems this weekend during the Big Game when millions of Americans rush to their bathrooms & flush almost simultaneously?
Nowadays, this answer is no, but at one point in time, it was actually true! Back in the 1930s, collectively huge flushes, known as “The Big Flush,” during Big Game radio commercial breaks did in fact cause occasional plumbing problems. Nowadays, city water supplies will experience a temporary uptick in the demand for water, but this increased demand won’t be nearly enough to cause any issues, so flush away! 🏈 🚽 💦
